The name(s) and affiliations of all author(s)/speaker(s) Steven Pemberton, CWI, Amsterdam The email address of the presenter steven.pemberton@cwi.nl The title of the presentation XForms 2.0: What's New An abstract of 100-150 words XForms was originally designed as a new XML-based markup language for forms on the web, and version 1.0 was just that. However, after initial experience, it was realised that the design had followed HTML too slavishly. With some generalisation XForms became more powerful in the form of XForms 1.1, a Turing-complete language that could still do forms, but very much more as well. Rather than procedural or functional, XForms's programming model is declarative, and this has proven to be very successful in reducing the time and costs of producing applications, typically by a factor of ten. XForms 2.0 is a new version of XForms in preparation by the working group, and continues the generalisation. This talk will present what has changed since version 1.1. Disclosure of when and where, if some part of this material has already been presented or published I will mention the XForms 2.0 testsuite as part of the talk, which was presented briefly at XML Prague, and in more detail at Markup UK. An indication as to whether the presenter is comfortable giving a conference presentation and answering questions in English about the material to be presented Affirmative Your assurance that all authors are willing and able to sign the Balisage Non-exclusive Publication Agreement (http://www.balisage.net/BalisagePublicationAgreement.pdf) with respect to the proposed presentation Affirmative Your assurance that the authors will provide a paper (or a short paper summarizing the main points of the paper; or at least your slides or a summary of your slides) for publication in the preliminary conference proceedings on or before July 20, 2018. Affirmative. Best wishes, Steven
